After decades of an uninterrupted presence in Chile, in 2015 Uría Menéndez supported the creation of the first regional firm in Latin America: PPU (Philippi, Prietocarrizosa, Ferrero DU & Uría), which brought together Philippi Yrarrázabal Pulido Bruner as its Chilean firm, alongside leading independent firms in Colombia and Peru.

The creation of PPU significantly strengthened our presence in Santiago. This is reflected in the permanent presence of a Uría Menéndez partner in the Chilean capital, a team of associates and the more than 120 lawyers (including 20 partners) at PPU’s Santiago office.

This structure, together with our experience in the region, enables us to bring a unique regional perspective and understanding. As a result, we have a formidable capacity to advise across all areas of business law, both for foreign investors on their transactions in Chile and for multilatina companies with interests in the region or in Europe.
