Diego A. Chighizola

Profile

Diego Chighizola joined Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal in 2001 and has been a partner since 2012. He specializes in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, agribusiness, and the development and financing of real estate projects.

In recent years, he has led complex M&A transactions, including GE’s investment in YPF Energía Eléctrica. In real estate, he advised the management team on Goldman Sachs and Equity International’s investment in Pegasus Real Estate.

In agribusiness, he advised on the sale of PLA’s manufacturing equipment to Deere; and in the energy sector, on the acquisition of a majority stake in TGS by a joint venture of local and foreign investors.

Diego also worked as a foreign associate at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, New York, from 2004 to 2005.

He graduated with a law degree from the Faculty of Law at Universidad Católica Argentina in 2001; earned an LLM from the School of Law, Columbia University (in 2004), and a master’s degree in finance from Universidad del CEMA (in 2007). Since 2011, he has taught Contracts and Business Law in the law degree programme at Universidad de San Andrés.
