Diego is a partner in the Intellectual Property, Information Technology and Privacy practice. A technology expert, he has 16 years of experience in privacy and data protection, privacy in internal investigations and the workplace, RegTech (including Fintech, Insurtech and HealthTech), software licensing, information technology (IT) agreements, cybersecurity, and criminal law relating to cybercrime. He advises clients on IT and privacy matters, as well as on intellectual property, IT and privacy aspects of mergers and acquisitions. He also has extensive experience in IP matters, including litigation, enabling him to provide IP and IT advice through a single point of contact.
Diego was a foreign associate in Foley & Lardner’s Information Technology and Privacy group in Chicago.
He is currently a member of the ITechLaw Board of Directors, vice chair of the Americas Program Committee and chair of the Latin American Committee. He is also co-chair of the IAPP Argentina Chapter, a member of INTA’s Internet Committee and a member of the IBA’s Technology Committee.
Diego is also chair of the Privacy and M&A Committee of the Latin American Privacy Association (ALAP) and a member of the editorial board of Global Privacy Law Review. He regularly speaks at international conferences on IT and privacy.
As an ITechLaw director, he is responsible for organizing the ITechLaw Cyberspace Camps in Latin America (he is currently organizing the sixth annual event). In his role as co-chair of the IAPP Argentina Chapter, he also regularly organizes local meetings to discuss current issues in privacy and data protection.
Diego teaches on the Personal Data Protection course in the Executive Legal Education program at Universidad Di Tella. He is also a guest lecturer on the online data privacy course at The John Marshal Law School, Chicago.
Diego is listed in the Chambers TMT and Who’s Who Legal Data guides and by Legal 500 as a Next Generation Partner. He is the only Argentine recognized as a Thought Leader Data 2020 and a Thought Leader Global Elite in 2019 and 2020. He is also listed in the Latin America Corporate Counsel Association (LACCA) Approved 2020 rankings in the Intellectual Property and Data, Technology & Privacy Law categories. He was also included in Global Data Review’s 40-under-40 ranking in 2018.
