Enrique V. Veramendi joined Marval O’Farrell Mairal in 2002 and is a partner in the Public & Administrative Law Department. He specializes in administrative and constitutional law, economic regulation, infrastructure and government contracts, and disputes with government agencies.

Enrique has been consistently recognized as a leading lawyer in his practice areas by Chambers & Partners Latin America, Legal 500 and Latin Lawyer, among other publications.

He advises and represents local and foreign clients in infrastructure, energy and public utilities, as well as in other regulated industries, including agribusiness, pharmaceuticals and banking. He regularly participates in procurement proceedings and advises on the regulatory aspects of major transactions. He has been involved in significant investment projects, renegotiations of administrative contracts and financing transactions.

Enrique also has extensive experience in constitutional and regulatory litigation and regularly acts in investment disputes and commercial arbitration.

Education

He graduated with honors, ranking first in his class, from the University of Buenos Aires with a law degree in 2001. In 2006, he completed a master’s degree in administrative law at Universidad Austral, and in 2008 he obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from New York University as a Hauser Global Scholar.

Academic Activities

He currently teaches Comparative Administrative Law in graduate courses at the University of Buenos Aires and Catholic University of Buenos Aires. Enrique coauthored a landmark book on presidential decrees and contributed to several books in his areas of specialization. He has also published papers and articles in various journals and newsletters. He has spoken at local and international conferences and regularly participates in legislative and regulatory reform initiatives at both the federal and provincial levels.
