Specialising in business law, Javier’s practice includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and international capital markets transactions, with a particular focus on the technology, blockchain, broadcasting, internet and telecommunications sectors.
He played an active role in the consolidation of the broadcasting industry, working on bank financing, regulatory matters, acquisitions and mergers, and the sector’s major securities offerings. He also advises controlling shareholders and owners of cryptoasset platforms, media companies (free-to-air TV, subscription TV, newspapers and radio), content companies and satellite service providers.
Javier advised Argentina’s Ministry of Economy and the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic on regulatory and contractual matters relating to the restructuring of the financial system. Ranked by the Latin American Corporate Counsel Association, Javier co-leads our Telecommunications, Media and Technology department, which is ranked Band 1 by CHAMBERS. Javier is a director of Britcham Argentina, served as co-chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Committee on the United Nations and International Organizations for three years, and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
A law graduate of the University of Buenos Aires, he earned an LL.M. in International Commercial Law from the University of Kent at Canterbury. He received a scholarship from the Fundación Universitaria del Río de la Plata and is a Clifford Chance alumnus. He has spoken at events organised by several organisations, including the Russell 20-20 Association, the ABA International Section and Latinfinance.
