Martin Chajchir joined Marval O’Farrell Mairal in 2002 and was named partner in 2013. He specialises in intellectual property litigation, focusing on trademarks, domain names, and industrial designs and models.
His practice areas include IP rights enforcement and anti-counterfeiting—with extensive experience in interim measures and the seizure and confiscation of infringing products—IP litigation generally, domain name recovery, and out-of-court claims. He represents clients in opposition, invalidity and cancellation proceedings before the INPI and the federal courts. He also has extensive experience in mediation, negotiating and drafting agreements.
Martin earned his law degree from Universidad de Belgrano in 2000, completed specialist courses in patent law and the licensing of intangible assets at Universidad Austral, and later qualified as an industrial property agent.
He takes an active part in international IP conferences and speaks in Argentina and abroad on IP rights enforcement, litigation and mediation. He also writes on topics in his field and regularly contributes to the INTA Bulletin.
He is a member of the Colegio Público de Abogados de la Capital Federal, the Asociación Argentina de Agentes de la Propiedad Industrial (AAAPI), the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI), and the International Trademark Association (INTA).
