The New York State Bar Association is the largest voluntary state bar association in the United States and has members around the world with links to New York State law.
Its International Section is one of NYSBA’s most active sections, with more than 2,000 international members and chapters in more than 70 countries. It serves as NYSBA’s global representative and as an international advocate for the Rule of Law.
The section brings together its members to discuss key issues affecting international legal practice and matters relevant to policymakers at local, state, national and international levels. Its membership includes practitioners from major international law firms, multinational corporations and other organisations involved in international law.
Buenos Aires hosts the global conference
Each year, NYSBA’s International Section organises its Global Conference in a different city outside the United States, providing U.S. and international professionals with an opportunity to meet, build professional relationships and expand their international practices.
Recent conferences have been held in Hamburg (2025), Seoul (2024), Mexico (2023), London (2022), New York (2022), Tokyo (2019), Montreal (2018), Antigua (2017), Paris (2016), São Paulo (2015), Vienna (2014), Hanoi (2013), Lisbon (2012) and Panama (2011).
The Buenos Aires 2026 edition, with Marval serving as venue sponsor, will run for three days and focus on the regulatory, governance and professional challenges shaping cross-border legal practice.
The programme will include high-level plenary sessions and substantive and practical panels, with a particular focus on regulatory harmonisation, professional responsibility, technology, environmental disclosures and reporting, and the future of the legal profession.
