The use of AI, open to debate at the 7th edition of Cuatrecasas Women in Business

The 7th edition of Cuatrecasas Women in Business brought together important panelists to discuss the impact of Artificial Intelligence on business models.
In its commitment to promoting female leadership, the forum brought together more than 90 attendees.
Cuatrecasas held the seventh edition of its Women in Business debate forum, aimed at female entrepreneurs, managers and directors. The meeting took place on 19 October at 6:30 pm at its Madrid office (Almagro, 9) and focused on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on business models and the tools needed to make them successful.

Under the heading ’AI: Creativity over knowledge. Connecting the dots’, the speakers discussed the main challenges and opportunities in relation to AI in the business world. Focusing on AI’s capacity to change current business models, they analysed the possibilities of this technology to boost the creativity of teams, as well as the skills that are essential to adjust possible strategies for action, combining creativity and knowledge, and connecting all of this, as in previous editions of the Cuatrecasas WiB, with female talent.

Mariana Norton, Cuatrecasas’ Corporate and M&A partner and organizer of the event, welcomed the attendees, followed by Javier Fontcuberta, CEO of Cuatrecasas, who opened the event, and Asunción Gómez-Pérez, vice-rector for Research, Innovation and Doctoral Studies at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and member of the Spanish Royal Academy, who gave a very interesting keynote speech at the event.

The debate, moderated by Diana Rivera, partner in the Corporate and M&A department of Cuatrecasas and organiser of the forum, was attended by a team of top-level speakers: Cristina Aranda, co-founder and CEO of Big Onion and co-founder of MujeresTech; Tomás Alfaro, CEO of Aegon Seguros; Ruth Falquina, co-founder and CEO of the agency Estado Latente; and Isaac Hernández, Country Manager of Google Cloud in Spain and Portugal.

"Artificial Intelligence empowers our capabilities, but the key lies in knowing how to combine it with human intelligence and unique qualities of people such as empathy and critical thinking", said Diana Rivera during her speech.

For her part, Cristina Aranda asserted that, "as ironic as it may seem, Artificial Intelligence requires people who know what is essentially human".

"Artificial Intelligence is the new muse of the 21st century. It empowers our abilities through co-creation by placing technology at the service of the human imagination. The important thing is not the technology but what you can do with it," said Ruth Falquina.

Promoted by Cuatrecasas, the forum has established itself as one of its most important commitments to promoting female talent and leadership, in an event that brings together executives and businesswomen to discuss current issues in the business world with top-level panelists.
