Clifford Chance, top Spanish firm of the year, according to Mergermarket

The Firm receives the "Spain Legal Adviser of the Year" award, one of the most highly-valued recognitions in the international legal sector

Clifford Chance received the award for the top law firm of the year in Spain for mergers and acquisitions, at the eigth edition of the European M&A Awards organised by Mergermarket and the Financial Times, last week in London.

This is the first time that an international law firm receives this award in Spain. Clifford Chance's candidature was chosen by the unanimous decision of a panel of judges consisting of various experts in the sector. Among other factors, the judges valued in particular the Firm's innovation, strategic advisory services and complexity of deals. With this award, Clifford Chance Spain beat out the other firms nominated in this category – Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, Freshfields, Garrigues and Uría Menéndez.

The awards ceremony was held last week in London at The Savoy hotel, where Jaime Velázquez, Managing Partner of Clifford Chance Spain and Javier García de Enterría, Head of Corporate/M&A, accepted the award.

In addition, at the global level, Clifford Chance Italy won the award for "Italy Legal Adviser of the Year".
