Pérez-Llorca Accelerates in the Americas: Pedro Pérez-Llorca to Relocate to Mexico City to Lead Global Project ’Scala’
Pérez-Llorca gives new impetus to its global growth with the launch of Scala, an internal project designed to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by its internationalisation process and consolidate its position as one of the leading legal services firms in Latin America.
Since opening its first international office in London in 2015, Pérez-Llorca has developed a solid international network with a presence in London, New York, Brussels and Singapore, as well as a domestic presence in Spain, Portugal, Mexico and Colombia, with seven local offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Mexico City, Monterrey, Bogotá and Medellín. This structure enables the firm to offer a consistent quality of service and technical excellence in all the jurisdictions in which it operates.
By 2025, it expects 25% of the firm’s sales to come from its practices outside Spain - Portugal, Mexico and Colombia - reflecting the strategic importance of foreign markets in its growth plan.
‘We want to seize and take advantage of the opportunities offered by this new international phase. Scala represents our desire to accelerate the future of Pérez-Llorca, while maintaining our commitment to excellence and to the talent and development of all our professionals,’ said Pedro Pérez-Llorca, Managing Partner of Pérez-Llorca.
As part of this drive, Pedro Pérez-Llorca will temporarily relocate to Mexico City for one year in 2026, where he will oversee the firm’s work in the Americas alongside the international leadership team headed by Iván Delgado, International Executive Partner based in New York, supported by Jorge Mondragón, Country Chair in Mexico, and Mauricio Piñeros, Country Chair in Colombia, as well as the local management bodies of the Firm in these countries, composed of Mexican and Colombian partners. Pedro Pérez-Llorca will continue to perform his current duties, with the Firm’s governing bodies and management structure remaining unchanged, as articulated through the International Partnership Board.
The Scala Project is supported by strategic consultants who are already working with the Firm to identify and accelerate opportunities arising from this international expansion, with the aim of generating efficiency for clients and growth and value for the Firm, as well as preparing a reorganisation of the group of companies that will enable it to capture all the opportunities that arise, ensuring the most appropriate structure.
