Pfizer sells its Adams confectionery business to Cadbury Schweppes
On December 16, 2002, Pfizer Inc. (?Pfizer?) agreed to sell its Adams confectionery business to Cadbury Schweppes plc (?Cadbury?). Under the terms of the stock and asset purchase agreement between Pfizer and Cadbury, Cadbury and certain of its affiliates purchased the stock or assets of certain of Pfizer?s affiliates. The sale was closed on March 30, 2003. In Argentina, Pfizer?s 100% beneficial ownership in subsidiary Adams S.A. was transferred to Cadbury.
