VIVANCO & VIVANCO has announced the appointment of Diego F. Amen Polanco as Senior Director & Chair of its Miami office, where he will assume strategic leadership of the firm’s Coral Gables, Florida location, which serves as a hub for its practice across the United States–Latin America corridor.
The appointment formalizes and expands his leadership role. In addition to the strategic management of the office, Amen will serve as the firm’s Miami point of contact for its offices across the region and will oversee the integration of the practice areas operating from Florida.
These include international corporate structuring, international taxation, wealth planning and transactional support, together with the US Tax & Accounting and US Immigration teams.
The decision reflects Miami’s growing importance within VIVANCO & VIVANCO’s regional operations. According to the firm, its headquarters has expanded significantly in recent years and now handles increasingly comprehensive and complex matters, including investment vehicles, real estate acquisitions, joint ventures and family wealth reorganizations, where the different sides of the structure need to be addressed simultaneously and coherently.
"Miami continues to consolidate its position as the center for business, investment and a destination for our clients, so our focus must increasingly be on providing more regional solutions from Miami," said Clemente J. Vivanco, Managing Partner of VIVANCO & VIVANCO. "Giving the office dedicated leadership means recognizing the role it already plays and committing to how we want to build it."
Diego Amen, for his part, described the mandate in terms of continuity and a pragmatic approach.
"Our clients are looking for someone who understands not only the substantive aspects of the practice, but also the practical solutions available for their matters," he said. "The role of the office is to make that consistency the rule rather than the exception."
