As a researcher, he has participated in various legal research and development projects funded by the European Union, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Justice and the Community of Madrid, as well as in privately funded projects sponsored by Banco de Santander, Airbus EADS, Santa Bárbara Sistemas and others.
A regular speaker, he has taken part in around 30 conferences, roundtables and seminars on a wide range of criminal law topics and has delivered lectures on criminal law at Spanish and foreign universities.
He has also contributed to around 30 courses, seminars, master’s programmes and doctoral programmes at various Spanish and foreign universities.

- A member of the UC3M Legal Practice since 1998, he worked as a consulting lawyer for UC3M at Oliva-Ayala Abogados (2006–2013). He currently combines his teaching and research with leading BROSETA’s Economic Criminal Law practice.
