Arturo Alessandri C. focuses his practice on foreign investment, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, concessions and arbitration. He also advises a broad portfolio of foreign companies across a range of sectors, acting as their agent in Chile, as well as domestic and international businesspeople. He serves as chair and director of various corporations and non-profit organisations.
Following the family tradition, Arturo Alessandri entered public service, first as counsel to the National Planning Office (Odeplan) of the Office of the President of the Republic from 1979 to 1983. Later, from 1992 to 1996, he was elected as a councillor for the Municipality of Santiago.
He has served on the boards of publicly traded and regulated companies, including Financiera Condell and Compañía de Fósforo S.A.
Arturo played a long-standing and prominent role in the Chilean Bar Association, serving on its council for 22 years. He was vice-president from 2011 to 2014 and president from 2015 to 2019. Since 2001, he has served as the Chilean Bar Association’s permanent delegate to its General Council.
In October 2019, he completed the Corporate Governance Programme at the Universidad de los Andes’ business school, ESE Business School. In 2020, he completed the PADE, the Advanced Management Programme, at the same business school.
