Javier Gómez

Javier Gómez joined Pérez-Llorca in 2009 and was appointed partner in January 2018. Since February 2021, he has been the partner in charge of Pérez-Llorca’s New York office.

Before joining the firm, he spent a year at the French firm Thomas, Mayer & Associés in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for advising European companies interested in investing in Hong Kong and China. Earlier, Javier Gómez was posted to the investment department of the Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in Mexico.

Experience

Javier Gómez specialises in corporate law. His main area of practice is mergers and acquisitions, advising on transactions involving both listed and unlisted companies and acting for industrial companies and investment funds.

Javier also has extensive experience in capital markets transactions, including IPOs, public takeover offers and capital increases by listed companies. He also provides ongoing advice to listed companies on corporate governance matters.

• Javier regularly contributes articles to specialist legal publications and the financial press. He also teaches on, among others, the Master’s in Legal Practice at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, the Master’s in Access to the Legal Profession at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, the Master’s in Regulated Sectors at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, the University Master’s in Access to the Legal Profession at ICADE and the Law degree programme at ISDE.
