Javier Povo

Javier joins the Pérez-Llorca Prosecutor’s team in June 2023 as a Partner. Specialized in tax procedures and litigation, he has 17 years of experience with national and international law firms.

Experience

Javier has extensive experience in advising multinational companies and institutions in their verification and investigation procedures, in the economic-administrative and judicial channels.

In addition, he is specialized in administrative procedures (e.g. tax application and review, ordinary and extraordinary) and tax litigation, leading legal and tax advice to clients with high added value (e.g. national and international family offices). international clients, institutional clients and start-ups, among others), in order to avoid conflicts with the Tax Administration and manage risk. He also directs the legal assistance and defense of Clients during verification and investigation procedures, economic-administrative and judicial channels (Higher Courts of Justice, National Court and Supreme Court).

Likewise, he assists and leads the legal defense during administrative procedures related to residency conflicts before public administrations, both national and international. On the other hand, he manages the taxation of large assets and private clients (direct and indirect taxation) from the aforementioned perspective.

• 2011 Higher Specialization Course in Tax Procedures. 2008 Master in Taxation and Tax Consulting. 2007 Graduate in Business Administration and Management from the Pontifical University of Comillas. 2006 Graduate in Law from the Pontifical University of Comillas.

Academic Activities

• He has been a member of the Rights and Guarantees Expert Group of the Spanish Association of Tax Advisors and the Tax Procedure Group of the Central Zone demarcation.
• Regular professor/speaker of highly specialized courses at the Center for Financial Studies and at the Distance University of Madrid-UDIMA and speaker in 2022 of the Master of Tax Consulting at the UCM School of Legal Practice. Likewise, he has been included as a member of Team Taxlandia.
