Jordi Farrés

Profile

Jordi Farrés joined Pérez-Llorca in 2006, after beginning his career at a prestigious national firm and completing ESADE’s Master’s in International Business Law that same year. He was appointed partner at Pérez-Llorca in January 2019.

Jordi specialises in corporate law and has advised domestic and international clients on a wide range of commercial matters, particularly mergers and acquisitions (investments and divestments, restructurings, carve-outs, etc.), joint ventures and strategic agreements, corporate governance, financing transactions, servicing and management agreements for large portfolios of assets and loans/receivables, and real estate transactions.

In recent years, Jordi has also been particularly active advising clients—including industrial and services groups, as well as PE and VC funds—on some of the Spanish market’s leading matters in regulated markets, technology (big data, e-commerce, technology platforms, etc.), tourism, telecommunications, infrastructure and distribution.

Academic Activities

Jordi teaches on the law degree at ESADE Faculty of Law, Ramon Llull University, and on the legal practice master’s programme at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He has also taught commercial law practice on the legal practice course at the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía in Barcelona. In addition, he regularly contributes articles to business media and specialist publications. He recently wrote the article “M&A and directors’ duty of loyalty in the target company”, published in the June 2020 issue of the Pérez-Llorca Law Review.
