Carolina León joined the firm in 2006 and became a partner in 2019. She has more than 15 years of experience, focusing her practice on foreign investment, corporate law, regulatory matters, contract structuring and negotiation, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, free trade zones, distribution and franchise relationships, and telecommunications.
Carolina has extensive experience in transactions involving the acquisition and sale of companies and real estate. She has successfully negotiated agreements between buyers and sellers and represents clients in obtaining financing for these transactions. She has also acted as local counsel in implementing multi-jurisdictional syndicated financings in the energy, telecommunications and infrastructure sectors.
In addition to these matters, Carolina has extensive experience representing clients in all aspects of tourism and hotel projects, including the development, financing and acquisition of properties. She has also assisted with the acquisition of concessions for mining and conventional and renewable energy projects.
Among the companies she has advised are Shell Company and LVMH Moët Hennessy on their local distribution activities; Medtronic, Carnival Corporation and Smurfit Kappa on their day-to-day operations; and JetBlue Airways, Louis Vuitton, Barrick Gold Corporation and Uber on employment law matters.
