Profile

Ricardo Pellerano has been with Pellerano & Herrera since 1975 and became managing partner in 1986. He has more than 40 years of experience, focusing his practice on corporate law, banking law, capital markets, insurance, tourism, real estate and telecommunications.

Ricardo also focuses on mergers and acquisitions and has advised local and foreign companies across a range of industries. He has also played an active role in transactions involving investment and the development of the tourism and hospitality industry in the country, with extensive experience in real estate matters. As head of the firm’s Financial Services department, he represents commercial and investment banks, insurance companies and financial institutions in project finance, securitisations and corporate restructurings. He has represented borrowers, intermediaries and debtors in a wide range of domestic and international banking transactions in the country.

For several years, he has been recognised as an outstanding lawyer in the Dominican Republic by leading local and international institutions, including Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, IFLR 1000, Who´s Who Legal and Latin Lawyer. In 2018 and 2019, Ricardo was named the Dominican Republic’s Best Lawyer by The European Global Legal Awards.

Law degree from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña, 1979.
